NCSAEL PROJECT MOBI HAWK IS AWARDED 2nd BEST PROJECT IN PASHA ICT AWARDS

NCSAEL project MOBI HAWK is awarded 2nd best project under Cyber Security Solution category in P@SHA ICT Awards 2019. Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) is the trade association representing the Pakistan IT & ITES sector. P@SHA is the only Pakistani entity globally registered with & recognized by institutions such as the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), ASOCIO (Asian Oceanic Computing Industry Organization) and APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance). With over 450 member companies nationwide, P@SHA has been the voice of the industry, advocating policy initiatives and working towards creating a high growth sustainable business environment in the country. Award giving ceremony was held on 21 September 2019 at Faletti's Hotel, Lahore. Mr. Asad Umar was the chief guest of the event. CEO's of all renowned Pakistani IT companies were present in the ceremony.

NCSAEL TEAM GOT FIRST POSITION IN OIC-CERT CYBER DRILL

OIC - CERT (Cyber Emergency Response Team) Cyber Drill was held on 17 September, 2019 in Islamabad under the arrangements of Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA). Total 16 x OIC countries participated in Cyber Drill and the event was hosted by State of Oman. From Pakistan, different teams participated. Total of 6 x Injects/Tasks were given to the participating countries. NCSAEL Pakistan responded to all given 6 x Injects. By the grace of Allah Almighty, at the end of the event, Pakistan declared first among 16 x countries and team NCSAEL stood first among all Pakistani participants. Event was covered by national as well as international media.

NCSAEL PUBLISHES RESEARCH WORK IN World's most prestigeous Journal of Network and Computer Applications (IF 5.273)

NCSAEL has published its research work "Trust model of internet of smart things: A Survey, open issues and future directions" authored by Ayesha Altaf, Director NCSAEL, Dr. Haider Abbas and Faiza Iqbal in World's most prestigious Computer Journal of Network and Computer Applications (IF 5.273). This paper presents a comprehensive overview of existing surveys on trust models of IoT. It provides classification of Trust Related Attacks (TRA) and comparison of existing trust models with respect to TRA and Function Requirements (FR) of IoT. Furthermore, this survey categorizes and compares existing trust models with respect to their resiliency against TRA, including: attack on node, attack on service, and attack on communication path. Moreover, a conceptual framework has been proposed which shows the minimum requirements to make a successful trust model for smart IoT environment.The paper is available at https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jnca.2019.02.024.

NCSAEL PUBLISHES RESEARCH WORK IN JCR Q1 Journal FGCS, Elsevier (IF 4.639)

NCSAEL has published its first research work entitled “Framework for calculating Return On Security Investment (ROSI) for Security-Oriented organizations” in Future Generations Computer Systems (FGCS), Elsevier (Journal’s Impact Factor: 4.639). We would like to congratulate NCSAEL’s Research Associate, Ms. Tahreem Yaqoob, Director NCSAEL, Dr. Haider Abbas, Dr. Faisal Amjad, Narmeen Shafqat and Azka Arshad on getting the research work published in a JCR - Q1 Journal. The researchers have proposed a comprehensive framework to measure ROSI effectively by overcoming gaps in the traditional approaches. The framework has also been validated with the help of Common Vulnerability Security System (CVSS) attack dataset. By adopting this framework and investing in Cyber security in general, organizations can make effective use of their resources, time and money. NCSAEL PUBLISHES RESEARCH WORK IN World's most prestigeous Journal IEEE Comm S&T (IF 20.23)

National Cyber Security Auditing and Evaluation Lab (NCSAEL), MCS-NUST proudly announces the publication of its research work entitled “Security Vulnerabilities, Attacks, Countermeasures, and Regulations of Networked Medical Devices" authored by NCSAEL’s Research Associate, Ms. Tahreem Yaqoob, Director NCSAEL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haider Abbas, and Prof Dr. Mohammed Atiquzzaman in World's most prestigious Computer Science Journal, “IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials” (IEEE COM S&T, Impact Factor: 20.23). This research presents a comprehensive analysis of security vulnerabilities present in more than a hundred medical devices by studying security tests and demonstrating cyber-attacks. The research work also identifies gaps present in implemented technical controls and medical regulations managing these devices.
